What keeps people from coming to Christ?

Answered in 1 source

Ignorance of their need for Christ and impenitence towards sin often prevent people from coming to Him.

Many people refuse to come to Christ due to a fundamental ignorance of their condition before God. Like the individuals in John 5:40, they may not see their action or inaction as a refusal to accept the life He offers. This ignorance is rooted in a lack of awareness of their sinfulness, as detailed in Romans 3:23, where it states that all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God. Additionally, many are unwilling to repent from their sins, holding onto worldly pleasures or self-righteousness. An unwillingness to acknowledge these realities keeps them from responding to Christ's call, ultimately resulting in their separation from the life and hope He extends to all who believe.
