What lesson can we learn from Pharaoh's hard heart?

Answered in 1 source

Pharaoh's hard heart teaches us that continual rejection of God's grace can lead to inevitable judgment.

Pharaoh's repeated refusal to heed God's commands serves as a stark warning of the consequences of a hardened heart. As outlined in both Exodus and Romans, God's actions—whether sending plagues or hardening hearts—are intended to demonstrate His power and prompt repentance. However, when Pharaoh chose to harden his heart against God's pleas, he ultimately sealed his fate. This teaches us that there is a limit to God's patience. Believers are warned in Hebrews 3:12 to take care that we do not have an 'evil heart of unbelief,' as persistent hard-heartedness will lead to spiritual blindness and ultimately to judgment. Christians are thus encouraged to remain sensitive to the moving of the Spirit and to respond in faith rather than rebellion.
