What must a sinner do to be saved?

Answered in 1 source

A sinner must come empty-handed, trusting solely in Christ's finished work for salvation.

Salvation is a free gift offered to sinners, and it requires nothing but faith in Jesus Christ. The Gospel teaches that we do not need to bring anything of our own merit, as salvation is solely based on Christ's righteousness and sacrificial death on the cross. Believing in Christ means recognizing that He has made all things ready for our salvation. Therefore, the act of coming to Christ entails coming in faith, with a heart willing to accept His complete work of redemption without the burden of self-righteousness or works, as it is by grace we have been saved through faith, and that not of ourselves.
