What role do trials play in a Christian's life?

Answered in 1 source

Trials purify and strengthen faith, drawing believers closer to God and revealing His purposes.

In the life of a Christian, trials play a vital role in purifying faith and refining character. They are instruments that God uses to teach reliance on Him and to remind us that our true strength comes from outside ourselves. As noted in 1 John 2:15, love for the world can easily lead us astray, but through trials, we can be directed back to God’s mercy and grace. These experiences compel us to recognize that we are not in control, teaching humility and dependence on Him. Additionally, trials also prepare us for service and growth, allowing us to empathize with others facing similar challenges.
