What role does affliction play in a Christian's life?

Answered in 1 source

Affliction often serves as a means for God to humble us and draw us closer to Him.

Throughout the Bible, including the account of King Manasseh in 2 Chronicles 33, we see that affliction can serve as a divine tool for God’s grace. When we experience trials, it is an opportunity for spiritual growth and humility. God uses these challenging times to bring us to our knees, leading us to seek His mercy and grace, just as Manasseh did. Affliction reminds us of our limitations and provokes us to cry out for God’s help, ensuring we remain dependent on His sustaining power.
