What role does faith play in assurance?

Answered in 1 source

Faith in Christ is the foundation of our assurance, as it assures us of our salvation and relationship with God.

Faith is the cornerstone of assurance; without it, certainty in our relationship with God falters. Hebrews 10:22 invites us to draw near with a true heart in full assurance of faith, indicating that it is through faith in Christ and His completed work that we gain confidence. Assurance is not about having a strong belief in our own actions but resting entirely in the sufficiency of Christ's sacrifice. When we trust Him and His finished work, assurance naturally follows as a result of a genuine faith that sees beyond ourselves to the security found in Christ alone.
