What role does faith play in being a child of God?

Answered in 1 source

Faith in Jesus Christ is the means through which we are justified and become children of God (Acts 13:38-39).

Faith plays a pivotal role in our identity as children of God, as it is through faith that we are justified and declared righteous. According to Acts 13:38-39, through Jesus Christ, all who believe are justified from all things from which they could not be justified by the Law. This means that our standing before God is rooted not in our works or attempts at righteousness but solely in our faith in Christ’s finished work. Our faith leads us to accept God’s grace and be transformed into new creations, establishing our identity as His children. It shifts the focus from our ability to achieve righteousness to Christ’s efficacy in saving us.
