What role does faith play in God's providence?

Answered in 1 source

Faith is the means by which believers receive God's promised grace and trust in His providential care.

In Reformed theology, faith is integral in responding to God’s providence. In the sermon, Frank Tate highlights that Saul’s journey, driven by his father's task, culminated in an encounter ordained by God. This illustrates how God uses everyday occurrences to lead His elect to faith. Believers are called to trust in God’s providential workings, regardless of circumstances. Hebrews 11:1 defines faith as the assurance of things hoped for, the conviction of things not seen, reminding us that through faith, we acknowledge God's sovereignty in every aspect of our lives. It assures us that He actively works to fulfill His promises, enabling us to live confidently as recipients of His grace.
