What role does faith play in overcoming fear?

Answered in 1 source

Faith in Christ empowers believers to overcome fear and anxiety.

In times of distress, fear can easily overwhelm even the strongest believers. However, faith acts as a powerful antidote to fear. In John 6:20, Jesus encourages His disciples not to be afraid, affirming that faith in Him provides reassurance during life's storms. This echoes Hebrews 11:1, which defines faith as the assurance of things hoped for and the conviction of things not seen. When believers trust in Christ’s sovereignty and His promises, they can rise above their circumstances. Remembering His past faithfulness strengthens faith, allowing Christians to confront fears with courage as they rest in His presence and power.
