What role does God's word play in bringing light into darkness?

Answered in 1 source

God’s word is the instrument He uses to bring life and light into the hearts of believers.

When God speaks, as seen in Genesis 1:3 with 'Let there be light,' His word effects change and brings forth creation itself. Similarly, in our spiritual lives, God’s word, through the Holy Spirit, brings illumination and life into our darkened hearts. Romans 10:17 states, 'faith comes from hearing, and hearing through the word of Christ.' It highlights the potent role that the divine proclamation plays in not only creating the world but also redeeming it, as God calls forth the light of Christ into our lives, transforming us from darkness to the light of His grace.
