What role does grace play in standing before God?

Answered in 1 source

Grace is essential, as it is through Christ that believers are made righteous and accepted by God.

In the doctrine of sovereign grace, believers are taught that they cannot earn acceptance before God through their own works. Instead, they are accepted based on the grace extended to them through Christ's perfect obedience and sacrifice. Salvation is not merely a legal standing; it transforms believers, giving them new life and righteousness that aligns with God's holiness. This grace enables them to stand in God's presence not because of their merit, but entirely due to what Christ has accomplished.
