What role does Jesus play in our assurance of salvation?

Answered in 1 source

Jesus Christ is central to our assurance of salvation, being the sole mediator and foundation of our faith.

In Reformed theology, Jesus Christ serves as the sole mediator between God and humanity (1 Timothy 2:5). His role as the foundation is paramount; without His perfect life, sacrificial death, and resurrection, salvation would not be possible. Ephesians 2:18 confirms that through Him, we have access to the Father by one Spirit. This signifies that our salvation is not based on our works but entirely on Christ’s righteousness and finished work on the cross. His promise that those who come to Him will not be cast out (John 6:37) further assures us of our secure position in Him.
