What role does love play in a believer’s life?

Answered in 1 source

Love is a fundamental evidence of true faith and reflects the believer's relationship with Christ.

In 1 John 4:20, it is stated that if someone claims to love God but hates their brother, they are a liar. This highlights that love is a critical component of the Christian life; it stems from an understanding and gratefulness for the love Christ has shown. The love of Christ constrains us to live in obedience to His commands and love others genuinely. Love within the body of Christ is how the world will know we are His disciples, as declared in John 13:35. Therefore, a true believer will naturally exhibit love for God and fellow believers as an outflow of saving faith.
