What role does the Holy Spirit play in our understanding of salvation?

Answered in 1 source

The Holy Spirit reveals our need for salvation and applies God's grace to our hearts.

The Holy Spirit is integral to our realization of salvation and our relationship with God. He convicts us of our sin, revealing our need for salvation and pointing us towards the grace of God found in Jesus Christ. As we draw from the wells of salvation, the Holy Spirit provides the necessary understanding and assurance of our standing before God. His work is vital as it leads us from a state of fear and condemnation to one of comfort and trust in God's redemptive power.
