What role does the Holy Spirit play in the leavening process?

Answered in 1 source

The Holy Spirit prepares our hearts to receive the leaven of God's grace, facilitating transformation into the likeness of Christ.

The Holy Spirit is instrumental in the leavening process as He prepares our hearts to receive the gospel. Just as the meal must be ground up to accept the yeast, our hearts need to be softened and made receptive by the Holy Spirit. This preparation allows the leaven of God's grace to work mysteriously and powerfully in us, transforming our lives. The process is gradual; as we grow in understanding and affection for Christ, every area of our lives comes under the lordship of Jesus, demonstrating the indelible mark of the Holy Spirit's work in us and confirming our identity in Him.
