What role does the law play in leading us to Christ?

Answered in 1 source

The law serves as a schoolmaster, revealing our sin and directing us to Christ for salvation.

The role of the law, as articulated in Galatians 3:24, is to act as a schoolmaster that brings us to Christ. The commandments reveal our inability to achieve righteousness on our own and highlight our need for a Savior. Rather than providing a means of salvation, the law demonstrates our guilt and drives us to seek grace through faith in Jesus Christ. In acknowledging our shortcomings revealed by the law, we are compelled to turn to Christ as the one who fulfills the law on our behalf, offering redemption and eternal life.
