What roles do the Father, Son, and Holy Spirit play in salvation?

Answered in 2 sources

The Father elects, the Son redeems, and the Holy Spirit applies salvation to the hearts of the elect.

In the schema of salvation, each Person of the Trinity has a distinct role. The Father elects a people for Himself, as seen in Ephesians 1:4, choosing them for holiness and blamelessness. The Son, Jesus Christ, redeems the elect through His sacrificial death, as articulated in Ephesians 1:7, ensuring that their sins are forgiven according to the riches of His grace. Lastly, the Holy Spirit is responsible for applying this redemption, sealing believers and guaranteeing their inheritance, which reflects the complete work of God in the salvation process, leaving no room for human merit.
