What should believers do when their hearts are troubled?

Answered in 1 source

Believers should turn to Scripture and the Holy Spirit for comfort and assurance.

When believers experience troubled hearts, the remedy lies not in self-reflection or emotions but in looking to the promises found in Scripture. Jesus offers comfort in John 14:1, saying, 'Let not your heart be troubled. Ye believe in God, believe also in me.' The Holy Spirit, referred to as the Comforter, helps believers remember and understand the truths in Scripture that testify of Christ. For comfort, believers should immerse themselves in the Word of God, asking the Spirit to illuminate the truth of Christ's finished work in their hearts, as echoed in Romans 15:4, where it states that the Scriptures were written for our learning, to provide us comfort and hope.
