What should I do when I feel overwhelmed by trials?

Answered in 1 source

When overwhelmed, the Bible instructs us to stand still, seek God's salvation, and move forward in faith (Exodus 14:13-15).

In moments of overwhelming trial, we have a specific biblical directive: 'Fear not, stand still, and see the salvation of the Lord.' This means that instead of reacting in fear or desperation, we should pause to acknowledge God's presence and His promises. As the Israelites faced imminent danger, they were reminded that God would fight for them. Similarly, Christians are called to trust in God's provision and sovereignty. After standing still in faith, we are then prompted to 'go forward,' symbolizing our active trust in His guidance as we navigate through trials with the reassurance that He directs our paths.
