What should we do if we doubt our forgiveness?

Answered in 1 source

If we doubt our forgiveness, we should seek assurance through prayer and reaffirm our faith in Christ.

Doubts regarding forgiveness can be unsettling, but believers are encouraged to seek assurance through prayer and reflection on God’s Word. Engaging in prayer helps to clarify our standing with God, as we seek His guidance and reaffirm our faith in Jesus' atoning sacrifice. We are reminded that God's grace is sufficient for us, and confessing our doubts and sins positively engages our relationship with Him (1 John 1:9). Moreover, engaging with Scripture and fellowship within the church can provide encouragement and reassurance, guiding us back to the truth of the Gospel and the promises it holds for those who believe.
