What should we do in times of affliction according to the Bible?

Answered in 1 source

In times of affliction, the Bible instructs us to pray and seek God earnestly.

The Bible instructs believers to respond to affliction by turning to prayer as a source of strength and comfort. James 5 teaches that when one is afflicted, they should pray, calling upon the Lord for help and encouragement. This reliance on God not only fosters spiritual growth but also reaffirms the believer’s faith in His goodness and providence. Throughout Scripture, we see that the saints of old, too, faced afflictions, but they endured by seeking God's face through prayer, expressing their vulnerability and trust. Ultimately, prayer in times of hardship invites God's intervention in our struggles and aligns our hearts to His purposes.
