What should we do with the idols in our lives?

Answered in 1 source

We are called to put away any idols and unclean practices and to devote ourselves fully to God.

In Genesis 35:2-4, Jacob commands his household to 'put away the strange gods' and 'change your garments.' This signifies a necessary separation from false idols and the practices that distract from our devotion to God. Idols can take various forms today, including pursuits for comfort, security, or self-worth that stand in contrast to our commitment to Christ. Just as Jacob's family was called to cleanse themselves before going to Bethel, we too are called to examine our hearts, repent, and remove anything that hinders our relationship with God, prioritizing Him above all.
