What should we focus on when we pray?

Answered in 2 sources

When praying, we should focus on our relationship with God, His holiness, and submitting to His will.

In prayer, our focus should align with the elements Jesus described in the Lord's Prayer. We begin by recognizing God's holiness, addressing Him with reverence as 'Our Father, which art in heaven,' which reminds us of His exalted nature and our humble position. We also seek to align our requests with His will, as illustrated in Matthew 6:10, where we pray for God's kingdom to come and His will to be done. This focus not only shapes our petitions but encourages trust that He knows what is best for us and will provide accordingly.
