What should we pray for according to the Bible?

Answered in 8 sources

The Bible encourages believers to pray about everything, including spiritual, physical needs, and the advancement of God's kingdom.

In Philippians 4:6, Paul instructs us to 'let your requests be made known unto God,' indicating that no aspect of our lives is too small or unimportant to bring before Him. This includes prayers for physical needs, as well as deeper spiritual concerns, such as wisdom and guidance. Jesus teaches us to pray for God's kingdom to come and His will to be done (Matthew 6:10), underscoring the importance of seeking God's glory above our own desires. Furthermore, believers are reminded to intercede for others and pray in faith, trusting that God knows our needs better than we do. Prayer, thus, encompasses a broad spectrum of requests that reflect our reliance on God’s grace and mercy.
