What should we pray for during times of affliction?

Answered in 1 source

During affliction, we should pray for grace, patience, and the will of God to be done in our lives.

In times of affliction, prayer should focus on seeking God's grace to endure struggles gracefully and for the patience to wait on His timing for deliverance. As seen in Scripture, specifically in James 5 and Psalm 34, believers are reminded to call upon God in their distress, trusting in His goodness and sovereignty. Importantly, our prayers should also align with God's will, echoing the petition of Christ in the Garden of Gethsemane when He said, 'Not my will, but Thy will be done' (Luke 22:42). This humble submission to God's plan fosters spiritual growth and strengthens faith.
