What type of righteousness do we need to be saved?

Answered in 1 source

We need the righteousness of Christ, as it is the only righteousness that can justify us before God.

The righteousness required for salvation is not the flawed human righteousness that falls short of God's glory, but the perfect righteousness of Christ. The Bible emphasizes that justification comes through faith in Christ, who perfectly obeyed the law (Romans 10:4), enabling believers to receive His righteousness as a gift. This righteousness covers all transgressions, allowing those who believe to stand justified before God without condemnation. Hence, this vital truth assures believers that through Christ, they gain the standing necessary to enter God's eternal kingdom.
