Who is invited to believe in Christ?

Answered in 1 source

The invitation to believe in Christ is extended to all sinners who acknowledge their need for salvation.

In Matthew 11:28, Jesus invites all who are weary and burdened to come to Him for rest. This invitation is not limited to a select few, but it specifically targets sinners who recognize their need and inability to save themselves. Furthermore, the gospel is meant to reach those lost in sin, as evidenced in Romans 10:13, which states that 'whosoever shall call upon the name of the Lord shall be saved.' However, the self-righteous are cautioned, as those who are firm in their works-based righteousness often reject the need for Christ. Therefore, the invitation is sincerely offered to those who are poor in spirit and seek deliverance.
