Why are the fires of trials not dangerous for believers?

Believers are assured that the fires of trials are designed for their purification, not destruction. Zechariah 13:9 illustrates this by stating that a third part shall be brought through the fire and refined as silver. This emphasizes that while all men will go through trials, believers will not face the eternal judgment of God, which is represented as the consuming fire.
