Why can't a natural man choose spiritual things?

Answered in 1 source

A natural man cannot choose spiritual things because he lacks the perception necessary to recognize them.

A natural man is incapable of choosing spiritual things as he does not have the perception required to understand or desire them. As discussed, Jesus explained to Nicodemus that unless one is born again, he cannot perceive the kingdom of God (John 3:3). This inability is due to the natural man being confined to his own realm, where spiritual things are not evident. Since he cannot perceive these things, he cannot feel inclined to choose or seek after them. Thus, divine revelation and regeneration are essential for a man to desire and choose spiritual truths.
