Why can't knowing the sender and sent be separated?

Answered in 1 source

Knowing the sender (God) and the sent (Jesus) is inseparable as they reveal the fullness of divine truth (John 17:3).

In John 17:3, Jesus connects the knowledge of God with the knowledge of Himself, affirming that one cannot claim to know the Father without recognizing the Son. The sender and the sent are intrinsically linked; dishonoring one is to dishonor the other. This reflects the relational dynamic within the Trinity and highlights the necessity of understanding both the Father and the Son in the context of salvation. Christians are called to recognize Jesus not merely as a figure of history but as the embodiment of divine truth and the only path to knowing God.
