Why did Christ need to die for our sins?

Answered in 1 source

Christ needed to die to satisfy God's justice and provide atonement for our sins.

The necessity for Christ's death lies in the nature of sin and God's justice. Romans 6:23 clearly states that the wages of sin is death, highlighting the penalty for transgression. Christ, being both fully God and fully man, was uniquely qualified to bear the full weight of sin's penalty on behalf of His people without being tainted by sin Himself (Hebrews 7:26). His sacrificial death served as the ultimate atonement, fulfilling the law and providing a means to reconcile humanity to God (2 Corinthians 5:21). In His death, Christ became the Lamb of God, taking away the sin of the world, thus fulfilling the prophecies and types found throughout the Old Testament.
