Why did Jesus' family members not believe in Him?

Jesus' brothers and sisters, as mentioned in passages such as John 7:5, did not believe in Him due to their familiarity with His humanity and possibly their preconceived notions of who He was. They witnessed His miracles and heard His teachings but could not reconcile these with the brother they grew up with.
