Why do believers struggle with unbelief?

Answered in 1 source

Believers often struggle with unbelief due to the anguish of spirit caused by trials and the cruelty of bondage in their lives.

The struggle with unbelief among believers is acknowledged and addressed throughout Scripture. The sermon points out that this struggle can arise from life’s hardships, as the Israelites experienced under Egyptian oppression. Despite their initial belief, their immediate circumstances led them to doubt God’s promises, which echoes our own experiences. The anguish of spirit and external pressures can cloud our ability to believe. Yet it is crucial to remember that even in our disbelief, God’s faithfulness remains, as He knows our frames and understands our weaknesses (Psalm 103:14). He continually offers grace that draws us back to faith.
