Why do Christians believe that the world cannot achieve peace?

The sermon emphasizes that true peace is elusive in this fallen world because of the deep-seated enmity caused by sin. The psalmist laments living among those who 'hate peace' and strives against a world characterized by anger and deceit. As stated in Romans 5:1, 'Therefore, since we have been justified by faith, we have peace with God through our Lord Jesus Christ.' The world might pursue peace through various means, such as politics and reforms, but these efforts ultimately fail to address the root cause of conflict: human sinfulness. Therefore, Christians turn to Christ, who alone can deliver us from the turmoil this world produces.
