Why do Christians cry out for help?

Answered in 1 source

Christians cry for help because they recognize their need for God's grace and intervention in their lives.

The psalmist in Psalm 44 recognizes that the natural state of God's people is one of reliance on Him, especially during trials and afflictions. Believers understand their frailty and the sufficiency of God's grace in their lives. We see throughout Scripture how God's children express their desperation for help, often acknowledging their need for Him amidst struggles with sin and the challenges of life. This cry arises from a heart that knows it can accomplish nothing without divine assistance. As we recognize the depths of our need, we respond like the psalmist, 'Arise for our help and redeem us for Thy mercy's sake' (Psalm 44:26). It's this acknowledgment of helplessness that drives us closer to Him, seeking His grace to carry us through.
