Why do Christians experience trials and sufferings?

Answered in 2 sources

Christians endure trials as part of God's sovereign plan, which serves to refine their faith and strengthen their reliance on Him.

The trials faced by Christians are not random but are divinely appointed for their benefit. Job's story illustrates the concept that afflictions have a redemptive purpose; they do not result from God's wrath for the believer but are means for personal growth and a deeper dependence on God. In Job 5:17-18, it is noted that the Lord corrects those He loves, which reinforces the truth that suffering can result in spiritual healing and restoration. As believers face trials, they are encouraged to seek the Lord and cast their burdens on Him, knowing that He promises ultimate deliverance (Psalm 34:19).
