Why do Christians need mercy?

Answered in 1 source

Christians constantly need mercy for forgiveness and strength to live godly lives.

Jude reminds believers of their need for mercy as a continuous aspect of their walk with God (Jude 1:2). Mercy is essential because it speaks to our continual state as sinners in need of grace. As Spurgeon noted, those who are spiritually aware often struggle with their imperfections and sins, recognizing their dependence on God's mercy for forgiveness and strength. Furthermore, mercy is the foundation of our relationship with God—He has shown us mercy, which enables us to extend that same mercy to others. The Christian life is marked by a recognition of our need for God's daily grace to overcome sin and live according to His will.
