Why do Christians need the Holy Spirit after Christ's ascension?

Answered in 1 source

The Holy Spirit is essential for regeneration, faith, and continuous comfort in the believer's life.

After Christ's ascension, the Holy Spirit plays a critical role in the life of every believer. The Holy Spirit is the agent of regeneration, imparting new life and faith to those who believe (John 3:5). Without the Holy Spirit, there would be no conviction of sin, no understanding of righteousness, and no assurance of salvation. The Spirit keeps believers in their faith, continuously providing comfort and guidance. As Jesus stated, it is expedient for believers that He go away so that the Comforter may come (John 16:7). The presence of the Holy Spirit ensures that believers are not left to navigate their spiritual lives on their own but are empowered to live in faith and obedience, constantly reassured of their acceptance in Christ.
