Why do churches tend to preach about other things instead of Christ?

Answered in 1 source

Many churches divert from preaching Christ due to a natural tendency to focus on programs, moral teachings, and societal issues.

The drift from preaching Christ to other topics in churches can be attributed to the natural tendency of humanity to deviate from the central message of the gospel. Left to their own devices, preachers and congregations often prioritize programs, social issues, or moral teachings over the proclamation of Christ Himself. This shift can dilute the gospel's effectiveness and lead congregations to emphasize works or human effort rather than reliance on Christ's redemptive work. As seen in the early church, initial fervor for preaching Christ gave way to disputes and distractions as Paul cautioned the Corinthians in his letters. The need remains urgent for modern-day congregations to return to a Christ-centered message, ensuring that their ministry remains rooted in the core truth that salvation and life come solely through Him.
