Why do difficulties arise even when Christians do God's work?

Answered in 1 source

Difficulties serve to humble us and test our commitment to God's work.

Even when engaged in work for the Lord, difficulties can arise, as demonstrated by the sons of the prophets' experience in 2 Kings 6. These challenges are often permitted by God to keep us humble and reliant on Him. They test our resolve and commitment to His purposes. Instead of leading us to despair, these hurdles prompt us to turn to God for help and patience. This reliance on God through trials is essential, as it reaffirms our faith in Him and the importance of perseverance in the face of adversity.
