Why do people refuse to come to Christ?

Answered in 2 sources

People refuse to come to Christ because they are spiritually dead and do not recognize their need for salvation.

The refusal to come to Christ is rooted in spiritual death and self-deception. As stated in Ephesians 2:1, those outside of Christ are 'dead in trespasses and sins.' Many believe they are alive and righteous, thinking, "I'm as good as the next person," thus underestimating their desperate need for a Savior. They do not see their enmity with God and fail to comprehend the necessity of Christ's perfect righteousness for salvation. Therefore, their natural inclination is to reject the very source of life that Christ offers.
