Why do people seek God in the wrong way?

Answered in 1 source

Many seek God for superficial reasons rather than for true salvation, often missing the purpose of Christ's coming (Luke 19:10).

Many individuals approach God seeking solutions to earthly problems rather than the essential need for salvation. This is a critical misunderstanding of Christ’s purpose as delineated in Luke 19:10, where Jesus states that He came to seek and save the lost. The motivations of many followers are often rooted in self-interest rather than a desperate cry for mercy and forgiveness. They may desire improvements in their life circumstances rather than acknowledging their need for grace. This misalignment often leads to frustration and spiritual emptiness, as true satisfaction and salvation are only found in acknowledging our lost state and turning to Christ with a repentant heart seeking redemption.
