Why do people struggle to worship God?

Answered in 1 source

People struggle to worship God when they focus on themselves rather than on God's salvation and character.

Worship can often be hindered by a person's focus on their own inadequacies and conditions rather than on God's glory and the salvation He offers. Individuals may become preoccupied with self-doubt, emotions, or their experiences, which detracts from the essence of true worship that centers on God. The sermon illustrates that when the Israelites sang their song of praise, it was devoid of personal focus and solely about God's deliverance. To truly worship, one must look past themselves and recognize the greatness of God and His salvation. By shifting focus from self to God, worship becomes a spontaneous response to His grace.
