Why do sinners hate Christ according to the Bible?

Answered in 1 source

Sinners hate Christ due to their enmity against His righteousness and the exposure of their sin.

The hatred that sinners have towards Christ is a direct reflection of their fallen nature and enmity against God. In John 3:19-20, it is stated that men love darkness rather than light because their deeds are evil. Christ, being the light of the world, exposes the sin within us, provoking hostility and anger. Just as Joseph's faithful reporting of his brothers' sins led to their hatred, so too does Christ's righteousness generate animosity among those who remain in their natural state of rebellion. This fundamental rejection illustrates the need for divine intervention, as it is only through the transforming grace of God that one can move from hatred to love for Christ, recognizing Him as Savior.
