Why do some people reject God’s message?

Answered in 1 source

People reject God's message due to hardness of heart and lack of faith (Hebrews 4:2).

In Acts 13:27, Paul notes that many in Jerusalem rejected Christ, despite having access to the Scriptures and the prophets. This phenomenon is not new; Hebrews 4:2 states that the gospel was preached to them, but it did not profit them because it was not mixed with faith. This reflects the sovereignty of God in that, while His grace is available, the rejection stems from human sinful nature, which can harden hearts against the truth of the gospel. It serves as a reminder of the dire need for God’s intervening grace to open hearts to the message of salvation.
