Why do some people reject the gospel according to the Bible?

Answered in 1 source

The Bible teaches that spiritual blindness and deafness are part of God's sovereign plan, as seen in Isaiah's commission.

In Isaiah 6:9-10, God commissions Isaiah with a message that predicates the spiritual dullness of His people. They might hear the gospel, but understanding is withheld due to their sinful condition. This teaches that salvation is not based on human will but on God's sovereign grace. As Paul points out, it is granted to some to see and comprehend the gospel while others remain blind. This contrast underscores the miraculous work of the Holy Spirit in opening hearts to faith, demonstrating God's control over who believes.
