Why do some people see Christ as important but not all?

Answered in 1 source

Some view Christ as essential for specific aspects of salvation but fail to see His complete sufficiency for all needs.

The phenomenon where individuals regard Christ as important but not all often stems from a misunderstanding of grace and reliance on personal effort. They may acknowledge Him as a vital component in their justification, viewing His blood as necessary for forgiveness, yet believe that sanctification and perseverance rely significantly on their obedience and moral standing. This view contradicts the biblical teaching that Christ is all—meaning He fully satisfies every requirement for salvation and Christian living. As seen in Colossians 2:10, 'And ye are complete in him,' Paul emphasizes the reality that the entirety of our spiritual existence is fulfilled in Christ. When believers fail to acknowledge His all-sufficient role, they risk falling into a performance-based mindset rather than resting in the finished work of Christ.
