Why do the Ninevites and the Queen of Sheba serve as examples for us?

Answered in 1 source

The Ninevites and the Queen of Sheba exemplify belief and humility in response to God's revelation.

In Matthew 12, Jesus points to the Ninevites and the Queen of Sheba as examples of those who responded appropriately to God’s revelation. The Ninevites believed God’s warning delivered by Jonah, repenting without seeing miracles, demonstrating genuine faith. Similarly, the Queen of Sheba sought the wisdom of Solomon and was astonished by what she learned. Their responses exemplify the humility and receptiveness that believers should exhibit in seeking truth from Christ, the ultimate source of wisdom and grace, unlike the hardness of heart shown by the religious leaders of Jesus’ day.
