Why do the scriptures testify of Jesus?

John 5:39 states that the Scriptures testify of Christ. This is because the entire Bible is centered on God's plan to redeem His people through Jesus. Every law, every sacrifice in the Old Testament points to His ultimate sacrifice on the cross.
