Why do we need Christ as our High Priest?

Answered in 1 source

We need Christ as our High Priest for Him to continuously intercede for us and provide light through the Holy Spirit.

In the model presented in Exodus, Aaron serves as a priest lighting the lamps in the tabernacle, which symbolizes the role of Christ as our great High Priest. He continually intercedes on behalf of His people, ensuring that they are sustained in spiritual light. According to Zechariah 4:6, the work of regeneration and sustenance is achieved not by human effort but by the Spirit of God. Thus, we rely wholly on Christ’s sacrificial work and His ongoing ministry, as He equips us to shine His light in a dark world and supports our spiritual growth through the Holy Spirit.
